Mayor Karl Dean today announced
Nashville’s new riverfront play park will be called Cumberland Park. Last fall Mayor Dean encouraged the Nashville community to suggest an appropriate name for the new family-oriented play park under construction on the east bank of the downtown riverfront. More than 200 suggestions were received from more than 170 people with Cumberland as the most frequently suggested name for the park.
